Since 1st January 2012 Abatel is Tadiran’s official distributor in Sweden. Tadiran is one of the leading producers of primary lithium batteries (non-rechargeable) in the world. Their facility is based in Büdingen, close to Frankfurt, a centrally based location with good connections. The chemistry which Tadiran is using in their batteries is Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LTC), which is a well-developed and mature technology since almost 30 years. The LTC batteries have a cell voltage at 3.6V and are advantageous when there is a demand for a high energy density, coupled with a long life span, i. e. 25 years. A well-known brand name within the Tadiran group is the “PulsesPlus” concept. In the “PulsesPlus” concept Tadiran have combined features where the batteries are able to withstand high current pulses whilst at the same time keeping the capacity. Typical applications for Tadiran’s products are Utility Metering, Alarm Sensors & Systems, Tracking Transponders, etc, i e products used in an extreme environment and where reliability and life span are of utmost importance.
